With a broad view of spreading the Traditional Knowledge Systmem (TKS) to the wider community, RGM has initiated a 15 days Training Course so that more and more people may become aware of TKS in a manner such that the trainees are able to play their valuable role in the sustainable coinservation and revitalization of Indian TSM
This program is offered to people, students, youth, Man, women, Families etc with an interest in traditional medicine system . The program explores ancient Indian methods for healing (Guni) tradition and maintaining good health.
The history of Traditional Medicine has its evidence from centuries. Though it is really difficult, almost impossible, to exactly know about the time period when the Traditional Medicine was originated. The archaeological remains from the early civilizations have disclosed that plants were actually utilized in burials along with in different forms of rituals. Even after the deep research it is still impossible to get the exact time period for the origin of this medical process. The Modern medicine began only around 300 years before, from over the end of the industrial revolution. Before that, the Traditional Medicine was just the only type of medicine which was known to the humans. It was also regarded as an integral section of the complete development of the civilization.
Traditional healers (GUNI) actually provide 70 to 80 percent of all rural health care at nominal rates or no cost whatever. Their in-depth knowledge of the medicinal plant world and its healing applications make them the rightful experts in a holistic, nature-based approach to health care. Their reliance on botanical medicines makes them the natural stewards of the forest and propagators of medicinal plants. Honoring them and employing their medical expertise and botanical knowledge within the nation's public health and eco-restoration efforts would be both wise and effective, and long overdue.
Immersed in the gentle, hospitable culture and lifestyle of rural Rajasthan, course participants will gain a unique perspective on the dynamic, organic societal relations that underlie eco-social sustainability. One example of this is the traditional healers' benevolent and graceful assurance to their villages, "Health Care is for all."
